Biography

Guillermo Marigliano start studying guitar at the age of 14, performing with different groups of rock until 1991 within the underground circuit of Buenos Aires City and Buenos Aires outskirts. In 1992 he made his first professional work, recording an album for the company Leader Music and performing a series of concerts in Buenos Aires, all around Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.
His musical studies continued at the ITMC (Technological Institute of Contemporary Music) a freshman guitar course, and a next year of comprehensive arrangements and composition where he expanded his knowledge of other styles (jazz, blues, bossa nova, etc.). After that in 1993 began studying with Francisco Rivero improving his knowledge on the area of ​​jazz and improvisation. In '94 he invites musicians to put together his first jazz-fusion musical project "Hora Cero", (Zero Hour), performing gigs in various parts of the Buenos Aires' City. He also participated in different projects with other musicians like Pablo Porcelli, Horacio Banegas, Francisco Rivero, Jazz 4 Pellican Patan Ricardo Vidal, Debora Dixon (Blacanblues) Jorge Cutello, Jorge "Black" Gonzalez, Rafael Nasta, Wire Gonzalez, Daniel Volpini, Juan Pollo Raffo, Marcelo Roascio, Andres and Alejandro Pellican Moro (among others)

He was invited to play in several Jazz Festivals, performing in Pinamar 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007. Villa Gesell '05, '06, '07. Jazz Festival of Santa Fe and the annual Festival of Metrovias. He also performs in the "International Jazz Festival Buenos Aires, 2007" with Francisco Rivero's Group "The Swingteto". Guitar Festival "Wicked Guitar" with: Rafael Nasta, Wire Gonzalez, Marcelo Roascio, Miguel Vilanova, Paul Dourge, Javier Viñas and Hugo Mendez. He also performs in the Festival de Jazz de Lujan 2011 and he was guest at Cycle National Endowment for the Arts 2011.

Nowadays, Guillermo splits his time in between teaching and performing. He teaches, especially in the area of ​​jazz, at the ITMC (Technological Institute of Contemporary Music) in the areas of Improvisation, Chord Melody and Harmony. He also conducts clinics and workshops Guitar at educational establishments within the country during concert tours. Since 2010, is part of Pablo Porcelli Ensamble and Daniel Volpini Fusion Trio. Since 2001 he performs with his groups "Guillermo Marigliano Quartet and Trio" developing a repertoire of jazz standards and own songs in the highlights of the local jazz. In April 2011 Album "BOP CITY" is chosen to participate in the 1st International Feria del Disco Independiente Feidi, held the 29th, 30th and May 1st, 2011 at COFFEE VINYL. In 2012 he recorded and released their second album "ACUARELA" (WATERCOLOR) through the label and distributed by PAI Sitemusic. His artistic activity during 2012 was developed through concerts and master classes in the city of Buenos Aires and around his country.

In March 2013 he was invited to participate in the II International Jazz Festival in Armenia, Colombia, organized by the University of Quindio and the local branch of the Alliance Francaise. In April 2013 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina declares Guillermo's presence in foreign Jazz Festivals as "High Artistical and Subject of Cultural Interest".
Early in 2014, the Commission for Protection and Promotion of Remarkable Cafes, Bars and Billiards of Buenos Aires City, selects Guillermo to perform during 2014 Shows "Musica en Bares Notables" (Music in Remarkable Bars).
Quindio University (Armenia, Colombia) and the local branch of the Alliance Francaise call back Guillermo, inviting him to the III International Jazz Festival in Armenia, to be held from 10 to 12 March 2014. This time, in addition to his artistic performances, Guillermo issue a series of workshops and clinics.
